SINGLE REVIEW // Jean Castel’s “In The Late Night”

0

On November 9th, Los Angeles-based Jean Castel released his debut single. The track is reminiscent of some of the songs that are climbing the charts today. Castel himself is influenced by everyone from Kanye West to The Beatles, which is evident through his instumentals and lyrics. The track was produced by Castel himself, along with Adal Jamil and OH1Eleven.

Cowritten by Ileina Lassalle, “In The Late Night” is about a love affair gone awry. During the chorus, Castell croons “I’m thinking about you in the late night / I’m thinking about you when she sleeps tight.”

As a first single, “In The Late Night” definitely sets the expectations high for Castel’s listeners. Jean Castel’s debut EP, “Orange and Yellow” will be released next winter.
